It is well built. Made of solid wood and is very heavy. The albums play on the table and the audio quality is quite good. We were very impressed with the overall quality. Getting the machine to record the albums to CD was quite challenging. We couldn't figure it out on our own. However, the manual provided step by step instructions. Without the manual, I don't think we could have figured it out. Don't loose the manual. We taped ours to the bottom of the player for safe keeping. Be sure to use CD-R and not CD-RW media. we started with CD-RW and they gave us problems. The support website had this tip. Haven't tried to record a cassette tape yet. The best feature is my parents are able to play their records but this device also allow him to make a copy of his records and tapes on a CD.
