I've had 15 pair of Brooks Addiction in 15 years. Wear out a pair a year walking. I have straight not curved feet and this straight lasted shoe is the only shoe I can wear anymore. I had gone to Phidippides on Ventura blvd in So Cal (Encino, IIRC). The guy at the store watched me run and suggested several different types of shoes to try. Addiction were the best of the lot by far. Since then, whenever I need new running shoes, I simply go with Brooks Addiction. I ordered these through Amazon and they are perfect. The size of my foot for walking shoes is 9 1/2 E and the size for the Brooks Addiction that works best is 10.5 D - I really don't understand why the sizes are not the same, but that is case, FWIW. They have great stability and really reduce ankle pain. I am overweight (250lbs) and somewhat short (5'8.5") and these shoes are great for me and my body type. For those of you considering buying running shoes, see that you are fitted by someone who knows running and has watched how you run. Some reviews for this shoe on Amazon say that they are terrible...
