Over the Top Review in Stereophile and The Absolute Sound Magazine !!
The Spin Clean® Record Washer System has been one of the best value record washers since 1975. It is an extremely cost effective alternative, to all of the higher priced, automatic vacuum cleaner type machines. It uses a proprietary cleaning fluid that does not leave any build up or film on your records. It is also one of the few systems on the market that will clean albums, 45's and 78's. With the Spin-Clean system you mix the concentrated record cleaning solution with water in the yellow reservoir base (small tank), The record stands vertically in the tray (as pictured), resting on adjustable rollers, as you rotate the record manually it passes through a set of two brushes that simultaneously deep cleans it on both sides. After you wash your records, you dry them off with a lint free cotton cloth.

  • Spin Clean Record Washer will Clean Albums , 45's and 78's
  • Spin Clean is Easy to Use.
  • Spin Clean leaves no Residue on your Records.
  • Spin Clean Solution Encapsulates dirt and sinks it to the bottom of the unit.
  • Spin Clean is the most economical way to Clean your Records.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent at removing dust from LPs, July 24, 2010

Previously, I used a carbon fiber brush before playing every record, and I cleaned dirty records with a Discwasher brush. The Spin Clean has taken the place of the Discwasher.

In my experience, the Spin Clean removes all visible dust and dirt and leaves the record surface looking clean. It also reduces static, even after you put the LP away and take it back out again. With very dusty LPs, I notice a nice reduction in noise. The Spin Clean doesn't remove anything really challenging - the kinds of things I've successfully removed with a sponge and warm water - so you may want to clean those spots before Spin Cleaning the LP. I recommend the Spin Clean, if for no other reason than less dust should mean less record wear.

Some have written that the Spin Clean is just a big cheap piece of plastic. As with any product, you are paying for the design and engineering, not just the materials. I'm not able to mold plastic into the shape of a record cleaner, but for $80,... Read more

For $80, I was expecting a bit more. What you get is a plastic tub with some stickers on it, proudly announcing that it is made in the USA. If this is the best that the USA has to offer, we should be ashamed. The whole unit feels cheaply made. There are still the little nubs where the plastic parts were cut from the tree. The pads are made of the same material as many record cleaning brushes are made of. Nothing special. You also get a small 4 oz. bottle of their cleaning solution and two cheap cloths that feel like medical gauze. $80 for that? I'm definitely not impressed.

To add insult to injury, the unit that was shipped to me came with a cracked corner, most likely due to the fact that it was poorly packaged either by Amazon or Spin Clean.

I wouldn't be so disgruntled if this device actually cleaned up my records to their original shape. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to do much other than remove large particles from the surface of your records. I put... Read more

Yes, I'd rather have a $400 record cleaning machine. But, after using the kitchen sink and various brushes and rags, this makes things so much easier. The amazing part to me is how the label stays dry, yet it cleans right up close to the edge. The Spin Clean is just a big plastic reservoir, with brushes, and probably overpriced. It's all about efficiency, though. It will do a good job on all but the filthiest disks and it's idiot-proof.
