Waters (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews    I generally don't fault a product because I misunderstood how to use it before I bought it, but I was disappointed to learn that you can't run the vacuum and the pump at the same time. In other words, the pump doesn't allow you to continuously wet-vacuum. Instead, once the drum is full, you turn the vac off, turn on the pump and empty the drum. Still, it's better than turning off the vac, unplugging it, and wheeling it over to a drain, and then pushing it back to where you need to work. And if you don't have a floor-level drain the pump would be a huge boom. This review is from: Ridgid VP2000 Quick Connect Pump (Tools & Home Improvement) After Hurricane Irene we ended up with a few inches of water in our basement, more than we ever had before. Spent hours vacuuming, lifting, and dumping the water down the drain. Could not move the next day. Started researching and found this pump for my shop vac. Home depot was sold out, but amazon had them in stock. Bought it and good thing too as we got more rain after the hurricane and had to vacuum the basement out again. What a difference. No lifting no dumping. Just ran a hose to the drain and away the water went every time the vacuum filled. Note this does not work while you are vacuuming, but then again that would defy the laws of physics or something. This review is from: Ridgid VP2000 Quick Connect Pump (Tools & Home Improvement) this pump connection has saved our lives! we have a pond that needs to be cleaned every so often and had previously needed to empty the pond vac by hand. with this attachment, we add a hose and spray all of the vegetation surrounding the pond with the water.. which is so good for the plants.
