This is a *TRIM KIT*... Many different plumbing manufacturers will make their items as two separate pieces, one piece is the trim kit and another piece is the valve or rough in valve. Some manufacturers may even sell the handle seperate. The trim kit is the finished piece that is mounted on top of the sink (faucet) or on the wall (shower kit). Yes, I would recommend a plumber, and yes, you'll need the inner workings beyond what's in this kit. That being said, this is a good set and looks great in either finish. I'd give a slight advantage to the brushed nickel option, only because we have some concerns about whether the oil-rubbed bronze finish may be lightening a little bit on top of the spout, after about 10 months of constant use. I would definitely be careful when cleaning it to avoid scuffing it. The oil-rubbed bronze is a perfect match to our black and white granite countertop. My only complaint is that I couldn't get the drain-stopper to float perfectly level with the sink drain. Not a big deal, and has no effect on functionality, but little things like that bother me. |
