This year I purchased the Zodi Extreme Shower and it rocks! On 2.5 gallons of water you get just about 4 full minutes of running water for a shower. The directions say no more than 20 pumps but I have found about 30 is right. It heats up the water from a chilly 60 degrees to a nice warm 100 degrees in about 10 minutes so its pretty darn fast. You get great pressure for showering and I can stand up! The only bad thing I can say about it is that the hose is far too short (about 6 feet) but a 10 foot length of the same hose from Home Depot and some couplers and hose clamps (total of about $6 and I had a nice long hose. Other issue is that someone needs to turn it on and off for you since once you heat it up you really can't take it into the shower tent with you. Other than those to minor things I love this shower! I don't... It quickly became the favorite gadget we brought. It sets up in a few minutes. We used an extension hose to attach it to a 20-lb tank of propane, rather than worry about consuming the little 16-oz bottles of propane. It is very well-sealed, so take care to observe the safety instructions, particularly the part about heating the water only while the hand pump is removed so that the tank doesn't pressurize like a boiler. The tank is fitted with a safety valve, but you don't want to utilize it via careless use. The safety valve is useful for venting air pressure so the tank can be opened before all the water is gone. Otherwise, you have to open the shower valve, wasting water just to reduce the tank pressure. The tank-mounted thermometer is very helpful for knowing how warm the water is, but it also tells you the ambient temperature when you pull it out of the (very nice) carrying case... I bought this so I don't have to mess with batteries. This is a good piece of engineering, very durable and well thought out. Some have complained about the time it takes to warm the water, well many don't realise how much energy it takes to heat water, so unless you have a system that can output this amount of energy this is a great plan. It's easy to plan ahead of time and one full tank is enough for two persons if all you do is wash. We heat up the water and use a large storage bin to bath our baby in. I then re-use the same water, add a little heat and have a great shower. The included stove can be used for cooking, but small pots might will not fit well.Pros: 1. Great quality, stainless steel tank, metal pump, rugged materials. 2. Good design, easy to see temperature, no batteries required 3. An extra replacement rubber seal and rubber pump valve is included 4. Included Stove... Read more |
