My coach recommended Montrail. After running trails in my street shoes, I realized I needed a shoe that would keep my feet dry through mud and water in addition to better traction. These have not let me down. With the Outdry (Gore-tex like material) my feet stay completely dry and warm. I don't even think about my feet when running in sub-freezing temperatures or through snow. I have gone through deep mud and plenty of deep puddles and my feet stay dry.The fit on these is true to size. I wear an 8 and my foot is slightly wide. The toe box is quite large so this may take some getting used to. If anything this shoe runs a tad large. If I tighten the laces well, the fit is perfect for me. The soles are very grippy and it makes a huge difference in traction compared with a regular running shoe. I like how stable this shoe is.
