I've tried a Kaces bag that gave up on me after a year's use and then went cheap and went to Academy sporting goods and bought a Plano brand pastic trunk/case with wheels, but that only lasted me about a year and half before the wheels started breaking off. I finally decided to use some gig money and got this guy. WOW. I was a little worried that after starting to stack, or more like stand up my stands in the bag that it was going to tip over because it leans back. Nope. With all my stands, attachments, bags and other misc hardware, this stand stands straight up and rolls so easily. Now I don't have to keep bending over to pack my stands after a gig, I can just start stading them up in this stand-up bag. All of the pockets are very handy and the zippers appear/feel to be quite sturdy. There are even some straps on the back side where I place my rolled-up rug. It's perfectly balanced and stands upright when loading and unloading stands. No bending over to pack up at the end of a long night! Construction is excellent and it has room for plenty of everything. The only negative is that there is no external pocket that fits a bass pedal. But the for me the pedal does fit in the top of the main bag nested with the stands. The ideal combination of a solidly constructed drum hardware bag melded to a dolly is brilliant. I've had mine for years now and it's still going strong - despite many, many gigs and miles on the road bouncing around in a trailer. It's incredibly easy to get all of my cymbal stands in and out quickly, and the pockets are all convenient and helpful for storing accessories and extensions. Every drummer should have one of these - period. If mine ever gives up the ghost (which I don't see happening any time soon), I'll be first in line to buy another. "Bravo!" to the Gator Cases folks for creating such an elegant solution! |
