This is impressive that they are paying attention. ******************** Until today I thought all optical cables were the same, either it works or it doesn't, -I thought-. When I placed one of these in the system to carry Dish network optical audio to my Denon 7.1 receiver, it was in order to free up a $14 Philips Toslink to connect in a CD changer. Immediately started getting random pops out of my main, center, and surround speakers, roughly one pop every 5 to 45 seconds. I re-seated the cables and tried it again. Still popping. Different TV channels... still popping. Put the Philips cable back in there, between the satellite and the receiver, and the pops were gone. I... My home audio system only allows for one optical input, but I have both my XBox 360 and PS3 running through a splitter (which also works both ways, so either two-to-one or one-to-two) to connect both to the system. While my previous cables would only work when also run through a signal amplifier before hitting the splitter (they were too thin, and there is some signal weakening that you can see visibly confirm at the output end of the splitter), these work just fine without the amplifier. |
